No tech – Writing Composition

Hi Everyone,

The following post is my suggestion for an AT that is No-Tech for Writing Composition. The materials used in this post were flash cards, tape, and AAC core words with pictures. I did not create the picture icons for this task I Googled "AAC core words with Pictures" and was able to find two  links for a pre-done board.

My idea for trial is to create a word wall with picture supports of  core words/ sight words for classroom use. I have noticed that most kinder-second grade teachers have the sight words posted in their room for everyone to reference but I know a handful of students that probably aren't using the help. I think the use of pictures for support could be helpful for those students that continue to struggle with their sight words. Also I think that the chart could be kept at their desk for easier access. As mentioned in a previous post sometimes the classroom walls can be overwhelming with the amount of guides and information posted. Also I think that this would benefit students with visual processing issues that have difficulty copying from the board.

These are the two screen shots I edited in Paint. The pictures were cropped and then enlarged to meet my needs.

This is something that I would laminate and keep at my student's desk.

These are the pictures on my printout cut and taped to my flashcards for the classroom word wall.
